Bio

I am originally from central Indiana. I kept migrating south and west for college degrees, eventually obtaining BS and MS degrees in Geology (Tennessee Tech U and TCU) and a PhD in Geography (University of Utah). I spent most of my professional career as a Geography and GIS professor at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. I also consider myself to be a professional cartographer who primarily uses GIS software for map making and spatial analysis. Since July 2021, I have been retired from academia. My wife and I moved to Southern Pines, NC, in October 2021.
